About  me

Juliana Reinert is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at the Royal Military College in Kingston-ON and a PhD Candidate of Civil Engineering at Queen's University in Kingston-ON, specializing in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, Under the supervision of Dr. Kerry Rowe. Juliana has been conducting research in several areas of geoengineering, specifically within geosynthetics, mining waste, slope stability, Landfills, foundations, and the development of algorithms for Geotechnical Engineering. Juliana has worked as a Geotechnical Engineer in consulting for several projects, being a registered professional engineer in Brazil since 2009 and a EIT in Ontario since 2020.

 

Juliana has been given several awards throughout her academic and professional career, such as the Robert J. Mitchell Prize (2020) and the Dean's Teaching Assistant Award (2018/2020/2023).

 

Juliana has completed a number of papers within her designation, targeting the long-term performance of Geocomposite Drains (2021), the spatial variability of soilproperties (2019), and the use of quartz mining waste (2017). She is currently serving as a member in multiple societies including the International Geosynthetics Society, the SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America, and the CGS (Canadian Geotechnical Societ)
