2012 - Responsible for designing the paving access to the Petrobras Thermoelectic Baixada Fluminense. These calculations and report were done by me, under the supervision of a senior engineer. In this project, I diagnosed a special feature to paving design, resulting in significant cost savings from the original design. The design involved subsoil reinforcement, subgrade, grade, and asphalt layer.
2012 - Responsible for defining the best type of foundation, calculating deep foundations based on SPT tests, writing the report and engineering drawings in this project, managing and training two junior engineers and one CAD specialist. It was designed a mix of cast in situ concrete piles and root piles.
2012 - Responsible for the geotechnical design of the Pump House. The challenge involved a big excavation with no allowable deformation on top because of buildings previously built on site. It was designed a cast in situ concrete retaining wall braced. The soil in the region was collapsible, so I was also responsible for a shallow excavation that involved a non-permanent slope stability calculation.
2011-2012 - Field Geotechnical Engineer responsible for a team of 50 employees performing survey and geotechnical investigation, with 15 SPT and 2 CPT equipment working at the same time. Participated on the team responsible for the construction and design integration across two different states of a Petrobras project, travelling 1400 km every month. Worked collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
2011 - Planning and Controller Engineer for a rehabilitation of 15 storage tanks in the south of Brazil. Responsible for updating the Master Planning, updating and re-planning for the 6 construction sites, writing reports to the client explaining and justifying the changes in the planning. After 6 months working in the office, I started working as a Planning Engineer in the field, responsible for planning new activities and update the ones on-going.
2007-2010 - Oversaw and managed the QA/QC team in 3 different contracts, including 3 field laboratories and management of 25 employees, for the construction of Petrobras Araucaria Refinery. Responsible for technical control, field tests, laboratory soil, paving and concrete tests, analysis of static load tests and pile integrity, monthly QA/QC reports and inspections to review compliance to the design.
